CE commends excellent performance of Hong Kong, China delegation to Rio 2016 Olympic Games
The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, today (August 26) officiated at the welcome home reception at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui for the Hong Kong, China delegation to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The welcome home reception was jointly hosted by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC). At the reception, the Chief Executive presented certificates of commendation to the Hong Kong athletes in recognition of their perseverance and exemplary show of sportsmanship in the Games.
The Hong Kong, China delegation to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games this year consisted of 75 members, with 38 athletes competing in nine sports.
Also attending today's reception were the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam; the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Lau Kong-wah; the President of the SF&OC, Mr Timothy Fok; the Director of Leisure and Cultural Services, Ms Michelle Li; and the Chef de Mission of Hong Kong, China Delegation to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Mr Kenneth Fok.
