Australian craft brewery brand adds to Hong Kong beer scene
Australia-based Lion Pty Limited announced today (July 19) that it has opened the Little Creatures craft brewery in Hong Kong, its first outlet outside Australia, to debut the brand's regional expansion via the city.
Little Creatures in Kennedy Town offers genuine Australian craft beer and cuisine, with a microbrewery supplying fresh, distinctive, well-balanced beers to craft beer enthusiasts, according to the Managing Director of Lion Global Markets, Mr Matt Tapper. Little Creatures is acclaimed as one of the best in the Australian craft brewery industry, and it will add a quality brand to the craft beer scene in Hong Kong, he added.
Mr Tapper said, "This is an excellent time to increase our investment and focus overseas. Australasian provenance is key. Consumers in Asia are looking for quality products with genuine credentials and we offer a portfolio of high-quality products with great heritage and authenticity."
He added, "The Australian dollar has structurally declined. Free trade agreements with major Asian economies provide Australian companies better access to these markets, while an Asian middle class is emerging with an appetite to try new things."
Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Dr Jimmy Chiang said, "Craft beer is very popular in Hong Kong and many foreign and local players have already set up a presence here to cater to the growing demand among local customers and visitors in Hong Kong. We hope Little Creatures can seize the opportunities and wish them every success in the city."
